The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is a Netherlands film festival That features fiction films, documentaries, short films and works of media. The film festival runs from the end of January till the beginning of February, so if you are looking for things to do in Holland around this time, you cannot miss the film festival!
If you are planning a visit to the Netherlands while the film festival is occurring, you’re in for a treat. Although it’s not your typical tourist attraction, it’s one of the largest audience and industry-driven film festivals in the entire world. During the twelve day festival Hundreds of filmmakers and artists attend to present their work and compete for various awards offered at the festival.

If you are an English speaker attending the festival, no need to worry! All films shown at the IFFR are shown in the original language with English subtitles. Because most Dutch people can also speak English, films feature English subtitles.
